St. Athanasius' Living Presence

Dreams and Visions

Many believe St. Athanasius appears in dreams and visions to help people, proving he’s still watching over us. Back in 356 AD, he saw his friend St. Anthony’s soul fly to heaven like a star with angels, and that wasn’t the last time he showed up! An Ethiopian story says that St. Takla Haymanot once dreamed of Athanasius holding a book, telling him how to win a faith fight—and it worked, the bad guys gave up.

Copts have stories too—like when Pope Shenouda III prayed at his relics in the 1980s and felt a calm idea come, straight from Athanasius. These visions aren’t just cool—they’re signs he’s still guiding us, like a big brother in heaven. For kids, it’s like he’s sending secret messages in dreams to say, “I’ve got you!”
