St. Takla and Friends

Saint Takla Haymanot helped the family of King Montemly, a ruler who once hurt his parents, showing forgiveness through Christ! Tradition says when Takla was a baby in Showa, Montemly, a pagan leader, attacked villages, took away Takla’s mom Sarah, and tried to harm his dad Tsega Ze-Ab. Archangel Michael saved them, and years later, Takla met Montemly. Instead of anger, Takla bravely shared Jesus’ love, and, some say, Montemly became Christian, baptized with his family through Christ! After Takla went to heaven, Montemly’s kin faced hard times with little food and prayed to Takla, remembering his kindness. Some say Takla sent a vision, bringing rain to their fields, showing love even for old enemies through Christ.

This wasn’t just water—it was a miracle of kindness through Christ. Ethiopian Christians share this story to show Takla’s power to heal broken things through Christ, even with those who hurt him.
