Saint Takla Haymanot shared his miracles with Iyesus Moa, his teacher who made him a monk, showing he never forgot a friend through Christ! Iyesus Moa was a holy man at Hayk Monastery in Tigray, Ethiopia, who gave Takla his monk’s tunic and head cloth when he left home to serve God. Tradition says Takla learned from him for ten years, praying many bowings each night and growing strong in faith through Christ. Even when Takla became famous, he didn’t forget Iyesus Moa. Some say when Hayk faced a drought and the monks needed water, Takla prayed from far away, and rain poured down, saving the monastery and making everyone cheer for their old student’s help through Christ.
This blessing showed Takla’s big heart, helping the man who started his journey through Christ. Some say Iyesus Moa smiled, proud of Takla, and monks at Hayk still thank him during dry times. For kids, Saint Takla blessing Iyesus Moa is like mailing a rain cloud to his favorite teacher through Christ—a way to say “thanks” that keeps their friendship alive in heaven!
