Healing Bones

Saint Takla Haymanot’s holy relics are a special gift that keep bringing miracles through Christ’s grace, even after he went to heaven! Tradition says he passed from an illness in 1313 at 99 years old in his cave near Debre Libanos, where his followers carefully buried his holy relics. For 56 years, they stayed there until, some say, Takla appeared in a dream to Pope Hezkial, asking to move his relics to the monastery church. During the move, something amazing happened: as monks carried his relics around the altar three times, some say a lamp lit itself, and a man with a hurt leg touched the relics and quickly healed, dancing with joy among happy pilgrims!

Today, these holy relics rest under the altar at Debre Libanos Monastery, a special place where people feel Takla’s love through Christ. Pilgrims find peace, and some say kids and grown-ups feel better after praying near his tomb. Ethiopian Christians see his hurt leg, from praying so hard, as extra holy, showing his strong faith. For kids, Saint Takla’s holy relics are like a gift from heaven through Christ, reminding us he’s still helping, one prayer at a time!
