Saint Takla Haymanot loves guiding people through dreams and visions with Christ’s grace, even after he went to heaven. Tradition says, 56 years after his death, he appeared to Pope Hezkial, a church leader, in a dream, asking him to move his holy relics from a cave to the monastery church at Debre Libanos, a great EOTC center, per The Life of Takla Haymanot. Hezkial obeyed, and some say when they carried Takla’s relics around the altar three times, a lamp lit itself as God’s sign through Christ, showing Takla was watching over his monks, per The Churches of Ethiopia.
During his life, tradition says Jesus and Archangel Michael appeared to Takla, sending him to Amhara on a holy cloud to share Christ’s love, and he saw the saints’ joy in heaven, filling him with hope, per The Life of Takla Haymanot. These visions kept him strong, and now he shares them with others. Some say monks and kids in Ethiopia dream of a winged man pointing the way when they’re lost or sad, as taught in Sunday schools, per The Churches of Ethiopia. For kids, Takla’s dreams are like a secret message from heaven, showing he’s close and ready to help through Christ with a smile!
