St. Mena's Miracles Today

Finding a Lost Kid

One modern tale says that in Alexandria’s busy streets, a Coptic mother named Mariam panicked when her young son, Samir, vanished one evening in the 2000s. She ran to St. Mena’s church, asking for his intercession through Christ with tears. One tale says that night, Mariam dreamed of Mena, through God’s grace, guiding her to a nearby market. At dawn, she rushed there and, one tale says, found Samir safe with a vendor who’d fed him. Mariam hugged her boy, thanking God through Mena’s intercession, and one tale says she lights a candle at his church every year.

This miracle shows Mena’s intercession, through Christ, for worried families. Coptic stories call him a finder of the lost, and this tale echoes that grace. In Ethiopian tradition, he’s a guardian who watches over children. One tale says Samir, now grown, tells friends how, through Mena’s intercession, God guided his rescue. For kids today, this story teaches that through Mena’s intercession, Christ comforts them when they’re scared, guiding them safely.
