St. Mary is still helping us today through her prayers in heaven! In Coptic churches, children pray to her for help with struggles, like making peace with others, and feel her guiding light. Some Ethiopian monks say they’ve dreamed of Mary encouraging them to pray and fast during Lent, giving them strength. Her prayers show she’s not far away, always ready to help those who seek to repent.
Coptic families teach that Mary loves guiding kids who try to turn from sin, just like she did. In Ethiopia, they sing of her as “Maryam Gäbäṣäwit,” a holy example during Lent. Kids get excited because Mary’s prayers mean she’s praying for us, ready to help with our struggles and sorrows!
